Wow!  My own congressman Duncan D. Hunter Jr. – my hero today!  I could not believe he had the nerve to say what he said.  At a tea party rally in Ramona (I wish I knew about it as I would have loved to have been there), Congressman Hunter spoke at length, honestly concerning the trouble California is in, and how he is thrilled about the law in Arizona, as possibly being a starting point for change.

I do not see what Duncan Hunter is saying as racist.  We have laws that are not being enforced, and illegals should go back and stand in line with the rest of the immigrants that go through all the right channels to become citizens.  I am just thrilled to hear someone with the nerve to say it out loud.  I salute Duncan D. Hunter Jr. of the 52 district, CA, as well as Arizona Governor Jan Brewer.  They are both standing up for America.  Why is it that Washington doesn’t simply enforce the law – maybe because deporting the illegals means they lose their vote?  That’s all it is.

“We’re not being mean, we’re just saying it takes more than walking across the border to become an American Citizen.”  I agree Congressman, I agree.

In 1934, a cross was erected in the Mojave Desert of California to honor our nation’s fallen soldiers.  It was erected by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  For years there has been a fight to remove this cross.  For years it has been covered over with a plywood box.

By a 5-4 vote, the Supreme Court has stated that this cross shall be allowed to remain, despite the objections of people who feel it is wrong to have a religious symbol of any sort in a public park.

I am not a religious person, but I do take comfort in seeing religious symbols, whether it is in a cemetery, or a park, or driving by a church.  I guess I take comfort that we have the ability to believe what it is we would like, and do not take offense to those who believe differently than myself, as long as people are not TELLING me I must believe one way or another.  If anything, I take offense to anyone feeling they have the right to tell anyone that a cross must be removed, or a tree cannot be place in a park at Christmas, as I see these instances as an infringement on our freedoms.

I applaud the Supreme Court for their decision to allow this cross to remain, and wish I was the one out in the desert with the privilege of being able to remove this ugly plywood box from the cross.  I will take pride in seeing it my next time in the Mojave Desert, and I will feel a little freer.  I also hope that this paves the way for the Mt Soledad cross in San Diego, and the many other crosses throughout the country.  After all, I don’t think about religion when I see one of these crosses.  I think about those lost.

I agree that we should take a look at the new GM. This is a car company that should have gone into bankruptcy, and then should have decided whether it should reorganize, restructure, and rebuild, or close it’s doors for good. With restructuring, they would have probably been able to come back with a product that could gain the respect of the American people.

What happened instead was a government bailout to the tune of about $50 billion, according to CNNMoney.com. This does not include GM Auto Supplier Support Programs: another $5 billion, nor does it include money to GMAC in the tune of $13.5 billion, or money to Chrysler for $15.2 billion.
Now, GM CEO Ed Whitacre states that they (GM) have repaid their government loan, in full with interest. However, at closer look, what GM did was repay an $8.1 billion government loan with additional TARP money – SMOKE AND MIRRORS.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I feel extremely strongly about truthfulness and integrity in America. I hate people who lie, and mis-represent themselves for any reason what-so-ever. So for GM to state that they have paid back all money with interest makes me extremely angry, especially since quite a bit of bailout money went to pay for employee retirement & healthcare money that GM didn’t have. The rest of America is taking a major hit in the wallet, yet I do not see Unions, nor do I see Government workers hurting in the least. Obama speaks of fairness – but I see nothing fair in the lies being told to the hard-working American people.

GM – I am taking another look. Before this commercial I told myself it would take an awful lot for me to ever consider buying a GM product. This new commercial has caused me to indeed take a second look. I am appalled at the audacity. I think you owe America an apology and a truthful account of the money given to GM. I wouldn’t spend a second thinking about purchasing a GM car. My taking a look at the new GM has made me sick to my stomach, as I know that us hard-working American taxpayer is footing the bill for their lack of ability to run the company right and keep the unions in line with the rest of the country. Another look at GM just reinforces my distrust, strengthening my reasoning behind my pledge to never buy a GM car. GM before this new commercial, I was not real keen on GM, but you nailed your coffin shut, and lost me as a future GM car buyer.

Don’t you think it is about time we start getting serious about making changes in the political arena.  We have had more than a year of the Obama administration with bailout after bailout on top of Bush’s bailout.  We have had government take-overs of banks and car companies.  We are soon to find that our health care will now be decided by government bureaucrats, and with 30 million additional people in the system, is there anyone out there that truly believes care will not be rationed to some degree?  The same government that cannot run the post office in the black, has a tax code so complicated that they themselves can’t figure out how to pay their own taxes.  We have a government that is leaning so public interest that the last thing on their minds are the people they are sent to serve.  They are listening to big business, big banks, big unions, and us little tax payers are on the bottom rung, barely hanging on, and being told to shut up and get out of the way. – and this from our President???  It all seems to be a game of how much money can government spend, and how many people can they pay off to keep their jobs.

Chuck Devore for U.S. Senate

Fiscal conservatives believe in policies that avoid deficit spending.  A novel thought!  A fiscal conservative usually looks to reduce overall government spending and looks to lessen the national debt (boy, do we need that!).  Deregulation of the economy, and lower taxes are often employed by a good fiscal conservative.  Just think of the possibilities.  With all this in mind, isn’t it easy to say that the best way out of all this mess is to vote out of office, the big spenders in both parties, as many Democrats and Republicans alike, have been good at spending this past decade.

It is time for real change, the kind we must believe in.  It is essential for us to vote into office, fiscal conservatives.   Conservatives who would take a serious look at the mess we are in and stop with the game playing, and figure a way out.  A good place for California to start is to replace Barbara “can you please call me Senator” Boxer.  Now, I do not for a second think that the right person to replace Boxer is either Tom Campbell or Carley Fiorina.  I firmly believe the right person for the job is Chuck Devore.  I believe he would be strong enough to do the job for the people of California as well as the people of America, and will be there to help get things moving in a positive direction.  it is about time we do what will work, and vote in a fiscal conservative, as it has been the lack of fiscal conservatism in office that has gotten us in this mess.  California, are we not tired of the mess our state and the rest of this country is in, now SERIOUSLY!  Let’s take a stand, and make a change we can believe in, and show the current politicians we are tired of not being heard.  We deserve a voice.  We deserve DEVORE

I hope that you too are ready for real change.  Please consider a donation to the Chuck Devore campaign, because our state and our country deserves better!
